Discover Armenian nature with SET on horseback
Even though Armenia has a very rocky and mountainous landscape, its possible to discover the country's nature on horseback. Armenian traditional horse breeding was aimed to cultivate staunch and fit horses for mountainous districts. These modest and patient animals are quite suitable for Ecotourism. On their back the small groups of travelers have the chance to reach even very remote areas where nature is still pure and undamaged. Moreover the contact with these wonderful animals doubles the pleasures of the nature experience.
The tour lasts six days and leads the participants in remote areas of the Khoshrov Reserve, to the shores of Lake Sevan as well as to hidden and nearly inaccessible cultural monuments in isolated places. Moreover there will be many opportunities for encounters with local people.Among them the Kurdish speaking minority of the Yezids. This proud nation of cattle breeders still lives a traditional nomadic life and follows its ancient religion.
The package includes:
3 daily meals, 2 tour assistants, horses and all the needed accessories, automobile transportation, entrance privileges.
The package does not include:
tent nor sleeping bag. Additional payments are required for such materials.
Preconditions for safety:
Each participating individual is requested to be physically prepared: to be able to ride a horse and also, to be able to walk through narrow paths for a long period of time.
Each participant is required to have boots, preferable knee length, such as a soldier´s boots. Also it is required that each individual have first aid instruments, sun glasses and a cap, clothes should be strong and durable, such as a soldier´s uniform.
